Full Time RV Adventure has begun!

While cleaning out the house for selling it, we stayed at Holiday Family Campground in Greensboro MD. We were there from 10 Oct – 9 Nov 2022. We stayed in the camper mostly, but did laundry at the house and stayed at the house if we had early morning plans in Easton. On Nov 5th, we drove into DC to see the Museum of the Bible. We spent about 2.5 hours inside, but really would have needed more time to thoroughly read everything. We would recommend seeing it.

On November 9, 2022, we left Easton for good. We drove to Thunder Canyon in Ider, Alabama. We had site #11 and enjoyed the week there. The afternoon we arrived, there was an outing planned at Howard’s, a local pizza place. Those wanting to go were meeting in the front lot at 6pm. About 18 people went and we met Dave and Tona that night. John and Mercedes Condon of the Odd Couple, then the RV Odd Squad, host breakfast and prayer at 9ish each weekday morning. We attended a couple of the mornings and met Robert and Crystal Fuller. They are a nice couple from Tennessee. While we were sitting at our campfire one afternoon, Bo, a hiker passing by, stopped to introduce himself. We saw Bo a few times around the campground. His wife, Debora, didn’t venture out as much as Bo did, but one evening 6 of us went out to eat Mexican food. The 6 were Bo, Debora, Robert, Crystal, Steve and Anita. Thunder Canyon was a peaceful and warm place with good fellowship. It was unseasonably cold the week we were there with highs in 40's and lows in 20s. We attended mass at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.

Other excursions while at Ider, AL was a trip to Desota Falls GA and to Desota State Park.

We left Thunder Canyon on 17 November and drove to Mena Arkansas to visit Carl and Michele Jacobsen. We spent Thanksgiving with the Jacobsens and really enjoyed our time there. Michele and Anita walked 3 miles every morning and Carl & Steve fished and/or hunted most of the days we were there. Steve and Carl met at the age of 9 and are still good friends at the age of 66. We attended mass with Carl and Michel at their church, St. Agnes Catholic Church.

We left Carl and Michele’s on November 26th and headed to Toledo Bend, LA. There we stayed at the Army Recreation Site Campground. On December 1st, we drove 110 miles to Livingston, TX, the town we will have as our mailing address. We had lunch at a great Cajun restaurant, Leblanc’s. We will get our TX driver’s licenses and register our truck, camper and boat in TX the next time we go to Livingston. On December 2nd, we went on a Croppie Fishing trip with a local charter company. The boat broke down and we had to be "rescued", but Anita caught 4 nice sized croppies before we had to stop.
