We drove from Zwolle LA to Hot Springs AR on 12 April 2025. We stayed at the Gulpha Gorge Campground in Hot Springs National Park. Jerusha and David met us at our campsite about an hour after we got settled. It was good catching up. We went out to dinner at a Texas Roadhouse and Miles met us there. He's doing well and has become a handsome young man.

On Sunday 13 April, we attended Palm Sunday mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hot Springs. It was standing room only and a very nice service. All who were able went outside to have the palms blessed and then processed back into the church. It's a beautiful church built around 1912.

After lunch we went on a hike. The campground has a couple of hikes with the trailhead right near our campsite. We hiked a portion of Oertel then Gulpha Gorge trail to Goat Rock.

Our main reason for going to Hot Springs was to experience the historic hot springs. We had made a reservation for a couples package at the Quapaw Baths and Spa on Bath House Row which is actually part of Hot Springs National Park. Quapaw Baths is named after the Quapaw Indian tribe and opened in 1922. Our package was the Signature Spa Private Getaway and it included: a private aromatherapy mineral bath, a 15 minute hot towel wrap, a 10 minute shower, a 20 minute cool down, a foot massage, and a 50 minute Swedish massage. It was a tie between the hot towel wrap and the massage for Anita's favorite. For Steve, his favorite was the hot towel wrap and foot scrub and massage.

On Tuesday 15 April, Steve went on a hike from the campground. He took the Sunset Trail and got some good pictures of flowers in bloom. Those flowers and other things in the air are what kept Anita from going on that trail. Allergies are in full swing right now.

This afternoon, went to Walmart for groceries and started to get ready for our drive to Mena Arkansas on Wednesday (tomorrow). We'll be leaving our camper at the State Park in Mena and staying at Carl and Michele's cabin on their property in the Ouachita Mountains. It's always a relaxing stay that we look forward to. We'll be spending Easter with them.
