Well, we've got our boat here in Toledo Bend, LA where it will be permanently stored. We decided last Friday (Dec 9th) to drive to MD to get our boat. We left around 7am the next day (Dec 10th) and proceeded to drive straight through to MD, a 24.5 hour drive (after pulling over to sleep for a couple of hours about 200 miles from our destination). We got to Darrell's house around 8:30am Sunday (Dec 11th). Darrell and Joanie allowed us to crash there and they were over- the-top hosts. We arrived when they were about to eat breakfast. They gave us their breakfast sandwiches and made themselves others! We got about 5 hours of sleep and then went to pick up our boat in Oxford, MD where it was stored. We had a couple more errands in Easton, so we got back to Darrell's with our boat around 5pm. Joanie made a delicious dinner, which we all enjoyed, then we watched Yellowstone. By the end of Yellowstone, we were all done too. We went to bed and set the alarm for 3am, in hopes of being on the road back to Louisiana by 4am. Steve and Anita woke up shortly after 2am and decided to get up and go. We got on the road about 2:45am and drove till 4pm, stopping for the night in Gadsden AL. We again set our alarm for 3am, to try to beat the big storm sweeping the whole US. We got on the road about 3:30am for the last leg of the trip. I wish I could say that it was uneventful, but it wasn't. We had a blowout shortly after getting on the road (6:15am). We got as far off the road as we could and Steve proceeded to learn where the jack is in our new truck. Steve not only found the jack, but knew how to use it! Guys might think "so what", but I saw the jack and it would have taken me a while to even know how to attempt to use it. So Steve became Anita's hero once again before sunrise on Dec 13th by changing a tire on the driver's side of the boat trailer with traffic zooming by. We drove about 80 miles to the Meridian Mississippi Walmart and got a new tire. The rest of the trip was uneventful and we pulled into our campground at 5pm on Tuesday, Dec 13th.
