Sturgeon Falls Ontario - Final Stop in Canada 2024!

Sault Sainte Marie Border Crossing to US 2 Aug 2024

We stayed in Sturgeon Falls Ontario from 29 July - 2 Aug 2024. The heat of Summer caught up to us, so we didn't feel like doing much outside but we did go to Duchesnay Falls which is about 40 km from our campground. We were in a KOA campground, which is not usually our first choice, but they are nice and was what was available for our dates. One day we went to the Sturgeon River House Museum for something to do inside. At Duchesnay Falls, there was a sign saying the bridge is closed. We had heard that you can hike up one side of the falls, walk across the bridge and then hike down the other side. Anita turned back after a couple of mosquito bites and the trail being too steep and slippery. It was hot too! Steve trekked on and got a couple of pictures of the falls.

Our trip back to the states was an exciting day. We were both ready to get back to mph vs kph, gallons vs litres, our own Internet working and 20 antenna channels vs 1. Nothing major in the big picture, but we found we missed those little things. We were asked a couple of questions about the contents of our fridge at the border, but we had no delays or issues. The line to get into the US was long, but it moved along OK. We waited about an hour. We made it to St. Ignace Michigan on

2 Aug 2024. We're planning to take our bikes on the ferry to Mackinac Island for a day, and maybe go on a fishing charter. We both need haircuts and Anita needs a pedicure, so we hope to get those errands done too.
